Telecommunication transformation with Luxriot

Project background

Direct Control was hired to modernise and centralise a series of legacy CCTV systems spanning multiple high-security office buildings, retail stores, and data centers using Luxriot CCTV systems. These existing systems consisted of mixed digital technologies, each with unique protocols and maintenance requirements, leading to high annual upkeep costs and operational inefficiencies. The organisation needed a solution to streamline surveillance across all sites, enhance security, and improve data management.

Client challenges

The project required consolidating various surveillance systems into one centralised, reliable platform.

The primary challenges included:

High maintenance costs
The existing systems, with their varied digital infrastructures, were costly and complex to maintain.

Fragmented surveillance network
The surveillance systems were spread across multiple locations and built on diverse technologies, limiting centralised control and creating inefficiencies in monitoring.

Security and data management
As security needs evolved, the existing systems could not support real-time alerts or the level of data security necessary to protect sensitive information.

System scalability
The existing setup lacked the flexibility needed to easily incorporate new sites or adopt emerging surveillance technologies.

Luxriot CCTV solution

To address these challenges, Direct Control implemented a phased rollout of the Luxriot CCTV system, a modern and centralised surveillance platform designed to integrate seamlessly with legacy systems.

The project involved:

Phased migration
A strategic approach was taken to minimise disruptions by beginning with non-critical sites, then gradually scaling up to include all locations. This minimised downtime and allowed Direct Control to monitor and refine the process as necessary.

Infrastructure upgrades
The transition to the Luxriot platform required network infrastructure enhancements, including the installation of fibre-optic networks for faster data transmission and secure data encryption to protect sensitive information.

Integration of IoT gateways and AI-based video analytics
By leveraging IoT gateways, Direct Control enabled efficient data exchange between the legacy systems and the new platform. AI-based video analytics were integrated for advanced real-time monitoring, allowing for capabilities like facial recognition, licence plate reading, and instant threat detection.

Centralised control room
A central, cloud-based control room was established, granting remote monitoring capabilities and real-time alerts. This setup allowed for automatic software updates, ensuring that the system remains up-to-date without the need for manual intervention.

Staff training
To ensure a seamless transition, Direct Control conducted extensive training sessions for on-site staff, empowering them to maximise the system’s capabilities and respond effectively to any security incidents.

Results

The upgraded Luxriot CCTV system delivered significant improvements in both operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Key outcomes included:

Reduced maintenance costs
Centralising the surveillance systems and implementing a modern infrastructure significantly lowered annual maintenance expenses.

Enhanced security and situational awareness
The AI-based analytics and real-time monitoring enabled better threat detection and situational awareness across all sites.

Improved scalability and flexibility
The Luxriot platform’s centralised nature and cloud-based control room provided the client with the flexibility to expand and integrate new sites and technologies with ease.

Increased operational efficiency
The centralised system allowed for streamlined monitoring, remote access, and automated updates, reducing the need for manual maintenance and providing comprehensive coverage from a single control room.

This successful integration project highlights how Direct Control’s expertise in modern surveillance solutions can transform outdated, fragmented systems into streamlined, scalable, and highly secure networks. Through strategic planning and advanced technologies, Direct Control helped the client achieve a modernised surveillance infrastructure that not only meets today’s security standards but is also future-ready.
